what's this colossal mess in my work area? why it's all the decorations for my wedding of course! i've been hard at work making little fabric flowers, pin wheels, paper birds, books, banners, table cloths, poms, and a knitted backdrop. i'm still not done, but i've been knocking a few more things off the list. good thing too cause there are only 11 days until our wedding!
i've come to that point in the pre-wedding process where things are getting chaotic, at least in my head. i'm finding myself becoming far more scatterbrained than usual, forgetting super simple things or finding items in weird places {like my ruler in my underwear drawer}. but next tuesday my dear friend @laurabrownart... er, i mean, laura {got my online networking sites mixed up} will be here to help me out with all the last of the wedding stuff, and I CAN'T WAIT!!! then on the big day, my friend kelli will help me with some makeup and my friend katie with my hair. i'm going pretty natural with both things. i don't want to look back at my pictures of my wedding and see some foreign image of myself. i just want to look like me. so hair and makeup - check!
we also met with our photographer nataliya cole a few weeks ago and i'm so excited she's going to be shooting my wedding. go have a look at her portfolio, she has such fun action shots and is a pro at capturing the emotions of the event, as opposed to those stuffy staged photos. she's also such a great gal and really easy to work with. photographer - check!
last night we met with our friends brian & brianne who are fantastic foodies and are cooking our wedding dinner. we taste-tested a bunch of yummy food and have a set menu now {we're doing fancy pre-packed picnic baskets!}. and dannon has been hard at work making all the desserts. we'll have a variety, including some super fun cake lollies!! he's an amazing man, that one. food and desserts - check!
we also finally sat down this weekend and planned out our ceremony. it will be pretty short and mostly just us making our promises. i think it'll be so sweet! check!
the only thing i'm worried about is that i still have not gotten my dress in the mail and i haven't heard back from the designer. i do have a backup dress that i got at a boutique, but it's not nearly as special as the real wedding dress i bought. fingers crossed everyone!!
so now i have to just finish the decorations and all that random little stuff that isn't really in a category but important all the same. wish us luck, it's getting a littler harder to stay sane! :)
