April 2010. Went to see Clash of the Titans (Louis Leterrier, 2010). Of course, I'd loved the cheesy eighties Clash of the Titans (Desmond Davis, 1981). We didn't really know better, back then, and just laughed at the papier mâché creatures while having an exciting time. Now, and I'm so happy I'm alive to see it, special FX have become tremendously sophisticated, so with computers absolutely everything can be filmed, and it is easier and easier to stretch one's willing suspension of disbelief. Still. Aussie Sam Worthington is cute as can be, the creatures are great, Ralph Fiennes is acceptable (wonder how much they paid him). It's all done very professionally, but, I don't know. I guess I missed Harry Hamlin and his bad haircut.
